Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit
The Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit is a research centre at °×С½ãÂÛ̳ supported by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation.ÌýOur work encompasses theoretical and computational neuroscience, computational statistics, machine learning and AI, threads drawn together by our focus on the mathematical foundations of adaptive intelligent behaviour.
We maintain a singular and cohesive research culture, emphasising interaction and collaboration within the unit and beyond. ÌýWe work closely with colleagues atÌýthe Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and BehaviourÌý(SWC) and the wider °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Neuroscience Domain, the Centre for Computational Statistics and Machine Learning (CSML), as well as companiesÌýand research institutions around the world.ÌýIn 2020Ìýwe joinedÌý°×С½ãÂÛ̳'s ELLIS Unit, part of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems.
About two-thirds of our PhD and postdoctoral alumniÌýhave established successful academic careers, whileÌýothers continue research in companies such as DeepMind, itself founded by two of ourÌýalumni.
