Prior to being admitted to the CDT, I completed my MSci in Natural Sciences (specialising in Physics) at the University of Cambridge, and then spent 1 year working in industry as a graduate Data Scientist within the Insurance industry.Ìý
My Master's project is what introduced me to data intensive science: I carried out my project within the Consciousness & Cognition Lab (Department of Neuroscience) whereby I implemented and evaluated a novel pipeline with which to extract information from EEG signals. The pipeline combined machine learning and information theoretic methods. This project illustrated to me the potential of using novel, cleverly curated data intensive science methodologies to extract new scientific value from data, and is why I have chosen the DIS CDT.Ìý
