Education and Experience听
Stella Bruzzi studied English and Drama at the University of Manchester and completed her PhD (鈥楾rial and Error: The Political Use of Trials in Film, Theatre and Television鈥�) at Bristol. Prior to joining 白小姐论坛 in April 2017, she was at the University of Warwick for 10 years, where she served as Head of the Department of Film and Television Studies and as Chair of the Arts Faculty for 3 years. 1993鈥�2006 she taught at Royal Holloway and 1992鈥�1993 at the University of Manchester.
Stella was a Researcher at BBC Television, first in Bristol (Documentary Features) then in London (Music and Arts), from 1988鈥�1992.
For many years she was a regular contributor to Sight and Sound and has appeared in several television and radio programmes and documentaries.
In 2013 she was made a Fellow of the British Academy.
Research Interests
Stella Bruzzi鈥檚 research falls mainly into the areas of: documentary film and television; costume, fashion and film; masculinity and cinema; representations of the law and true crime in film and television. Following on from the Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship 鈥楢pproximation: Documentary, History and the Staging of Reality鈥�, a monograph of the same title has just been published by Routledge (May, 2020).听New Documentary has been translated into Chinese and portions of this and other publications have been translated into German, Spanish and Italian. A full Spanish edition is planned. She is currently writing an article on fashion and film.
