What is Organisational Development at °×С½ãÂÛ̳?

Organisational Development supports staff and doctoral students to achieve excellence, build careers, and play their part to deliver on the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ mission.

Training, inductions, andÌýleadership development Ìý

We provideÌýa range of learning and development courses, delivered through a blended mix of online or classroom-based live sessions, and flexibly curated e-learning modules.  Our learning opportunities include:

  • Training and personal development for all staff

  • Specialised training for staff researchers and doctoral studentsÌý

Staff surveys and celebrations

We seekÌýto support a positive experience for staff and research students at °×С½ãÂÛ̳. We do this by using surveys to understand what life at °×С½ãÂÛ̳ feels likeÌýby ensuring that new staff are well taken care of,ÌýandÌýby bringing the community together to celebrate achievements or share ideas.Ìý Our work in this area encompasses:

Our approach to developmentÌý

The °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Ways of Working underpin our approach to development, setting out a consistent set of values and behaviours that inform the decisions we make around where to focus our attention. Ìý

We are committed to equity at every stage of career journeys, working with groups of staff that are underrepresented at senior levels at °×С½ãÂÛ̳ to improve their progression into leadership roles. Our Women in Leadership and Emerging Leaders programmes are our flagship interventions in this space, but equity, diversity and inclusion are at the forefront of all aspects of our work. Ìý

We work closely with colleagues across °×С½ãÂÛ̳, in the faculties and professional services, with colleagues in EDI, HR, Workplace Health and Wellbeing, and Sustainability to ensure that our °×С½ãÂÛ̳ values and staff commitments are reflected throughout our learning interventions. Ìý
