About IBIL, Sir Hugh Laddie and the Sir Hugh Laddie Chair
When Sir Hugh retired from the bench in 2005 heÌýwas appointed Professor of Intellectual Property Law at °×С½ãÂÛ̳ and went on to foundÌýthe Institute of Brand and Innovation Law. Following his death in November 2008, and with the endorsement of his family, °×С½ãÂÛ̳ set about creating an academic Chair funded by charitable contributions in his memory.ÌýThe inaugural holder of the Sir Hugh Laddie Chair in Intellectual Property Law is Professor Sir Robin Jacob who is also Director of the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Institute of Brand and Innovation Law.
