Administrative structure
Faculty Office and Faculty Tutor
The faculty office, headed by the Dean and the Director of Operations, carries out the central governance, administration and strategic direction of the faculty. It also runs the Natural Sciences Degree, the faculty's cross-departmental undergraduate programme.
As delegated by the Dean, the Director of Education and Student Experience encompasses the duties of the "Faculty Tutor" as set out in the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Academic Manual.
Faculty committees
The Faculty Office is supported by a number of committees. Key ones include:
Faculty Undergraduate Teaching Committee and Board of Examiners
This committee has overall responsibility for undergraduate degrees offered by the faculty and its departments.
Membership: Representatives from all departments; chaired by the Director of Education and Student Experience
Faculty Postgraduate Teaching Committee and Board of Examiners
This committee has overall responsibility for postgraduate degrees offered by the faculty's departments.
Membership: Representatives from all departments; chaired by the Director of Education and Student Experience.
Faculty Library Committee
This committee coordinates the faculty's work with that of °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Library Services, ensuring that the academic needs of the faculty's academic staff and students are met.
Membership: Representatives from all departments and the Mathematical & Physical Sciences subject librarian; chaired by the Director of Education and Student Experience.
Faculty Leadership Team
Meetings of the heads of all departments in the faculty plus other key staff members, to discuss strategy and management of the faculty and its departments.
Membership: All heads of department from the faculty, director of operations, school finance director, school research facilitator, faculty estates manager, faculty HR manager, Head of Communications & Marketing, Director of Education and Student Experience; chaired by the Dean.
Faculty Enterprise Forum
The Faculty Enterprise Forum supports the Vice-Dean (Enterprise)
Membership: Representatives from departments and institutes; chaired by the Vice-Dean (Enterprise)
Faculty Research Board
The Faculty Research Board supports the Vice-Dean (Research)
Membership: Representatives from departments; chaired by the Vice-Dean (Research)
BEAMS School
The Built Environment, Engineering, Mathematical & Physical Sciences School (BEAMS School) is an umbrella structure that coordinates the work of the faculty, along with the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment and The Faculty of Engineering Sciences.
Certain key functions are carried out at this level. These include overall responsibility for finance and budgets, as well as research facilitation.
