New °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Cruciform Hub officially opens

23 January 2015

The Cruciform Hub was officially opened by Professor Jane Dacre, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Dr Deborah Gill, Interim Director of the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Medical School, on 15 January 2015.

The Cruciform Hub opened following a year-long refurbishment to create a new teaching and learning space for °×С½ãÂÛ̳ students and staff, as well as NHS staff working at °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Hospital.

The hub provides a new medical library within the lower ground floor of the Grade II-listed Cruciform Building, and includes a library, quiet study spaces, group work space, computer clusters and teaching rooms. It also features two exhibition walls, which showcase medical artefacts from °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Museums & Collections, together with medical illustrations from °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Special Collections.

Entertainment during the evening was provided by the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Medical School choir.

The project was a collaboration between °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Library Services, °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Estates and other Professional Services divisions, in partnership with °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Medical School.
