Description
The STEaPP Foundations in Health, Technology and Public Policy module has a global focus with an aim to offer candidates unique skills to understand and navigate the pervasive, dynamic and context-specific interfaces between health technologies, health innovations, health systems and public policy. There is a great need to integrate technology, engineering and industrial policy into health studies and health policy for improvement of health outcomes. To this end, this Module brings together tools from science, technology, engineering and public policy to shape and drive decision-making and practice for sustainable and inclusive health systems locally and globally.Ìý
Put in another way, this Module focuses on the public policy and public administration implications of health technologies and innovations, including but not limited to the important and integrative roles that health technologies and health policy play in other sectors. It seeks to establish and consolidate understandings of the health sector, the role of technologies in delivery of health services and the challenges and opportunities for decision-makers in establishing, sustaining and reconfiguring health care services in the context of rapid technological and epidemiological changes.Ìý
