Description
Content: This module will introduce the practice of making moving images for the future-facing modern world, building on the wide-ranging philosophical discussions emanating from the critical theory module.ÌýÌýÌý
Each week we will introduce a new method for making moving image, learning new technical skills such as lighting, recording sound and editing. In our practical sessions you will have time to explore and experiment with these new techniques. As you build your toolkit of practical moving image methods, we will consider both how to apply these tools in making moving image, and what they do, theoretically, conceptually and ethically. We will look at how they are used in a variety of moving image works, including TikTok videos, livestreams, early cinema, archive and essay films, engaging with a multiplicity of voices and perspectives.Ìý
By the end of the module you will have an expanded conception of the possibilities of moving image storytelling. You will have gained new technical skills and have the confidence to apply these skills in creative and playful ways, beginning to develop your own individual language in moving image.Ìý
