Description
Only available to single hons Geog and joint degree Geog students. The course introduces students to a range of research techniques commonly used in contemporary human geography. A particular emphasis is placed on the practical questions associated with how and when you should choose a particular method and how identified methods are effectively implemented. It is a prerequisite for anyone proposing to undertake a third-year dissertation involving any such methods.
Students completing this course will gain valuable transferable skills in the following areas:
- Evaluating different forms of evidence
- Written communication and argumentation
- Interviewing and qualitative analysis
- GIS, statistical analysis and coding
- Project design and management
