Description
Pharmacology is a lively scientific discipline which provides a basis for the use of drugs in therapy and beyond. We aim to provide a good background for scientists who need to understand how drugs act and are developed.
Teaching starts in term 2 with weekly lectures and problem-based tutorial activities. By the end of this module the students are expected to understand the principal basis of therapeutics.
Pharmacology and Drug Action requires an intermediate level background in human physiology and biochemistry. The module is compulsory for students on the Applied Medical Sciences degree. Numbers are limited and preference will be given to students for whom MEDC0013 is a recommended option.
