There are no alternative credit options available for this module.
The aims of the course are: (i) to give students the chance to work in depth on an advanced mathematical topic (ii) to give students an introduction to the methods and experience of research, and so make them better prepared to start a research degree or to work in a research-related job (iii) to develop students' ability to organize their work on a substantial project iv) to develop students' ability to present their work, both in written and oral form. The course will be taken as a compulsory unit in the final year of the 4-year MSci in single or joint-honours Mathematics degrees.
