Description
This module will cover sexual health and wellbeing, gender, sex and sex variation, sexuality, relationships, sexual difficulty, reproductive choice. The module addresses sexual health in society, helping students to understand how power and social forces impact on sexual health (e.g. colonial history and racism, social expectations regarding sex, gender and relationships).
The module addresses patient perspectives throughout, e.g. what it's like seeking health services as someone who is intersex, trans or non-binary.
For the assignment, students will develop a piece of science communication on a sexual health topic (a health education poster) for patients, the public, clinicians, or policy-makers.
