°×С½ãÂÛ̳

A group of 15 delegates from the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) visited °×С½ãÂÛ̳ on 9 October as part of the first high level training programme for future heads of CNRS institutes or large laboratories; the delegation was accompanied by Professor Philippe Lane, French Attaché for Higher Education in the UK. The CNRS chose to visit °×С½ãÂÛ̳ because of its excellent reputation in teaching and research and the breadth of discipline areas covered by its departments.

The delegation was hosted by Professor David Price (Vice-Provost for Research) and Professor Mike Wilson, Pro-Provost (Europe). Presentations highlighting °×С½ãÂÛ̳ science research were given by Professor Louise Harra on her work with the Hinode Space Mission, Professor John Butterworth on the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ High Energy Physics Group including his work with the Large Hadron Collider and Professor Peter Coveney on Computational Modelling of Biological Systems.Ìý A panel on knowledge transfer was lead by Dr Steven Schooling of °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Business.

The CNRS delegation also visited the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Cancer Institute as the guests of the Director, Professor Chris Boshoff.
