  • An Italian nobleman falls from his horse during an 11th century pageant. When he regains consciousness he believes he is the medieval Emperor, King Henry IV. Encouraged in this belief by those around him, he plays out his illusion to perfection. Is this madness or a lifelong self-observing performance? °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Union (°×С½ãÂÛ̳U) Drama Society, in association with °×С½ãÂÛ̳U Stage Crew, presents a production of Pirandello's 'Henry IV' in a new adaptation by Tom Stoppard at the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Bloomsbury Theatre. Maintaining the simplicity of Pirandello's dramatic line, Stoppard's adaptation brings a new energy and linguistic wit to this masterpiece.

The performances will take place on Thursday 5 March at 7.30pm and on Friday 6 March at 2pm and 7.30pm. Full price tickets are £10 (£5 for concessions) and can be purchased at the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Bloomsbury Theatre box office in person, or over the phone by calling 020 7388 8822.Ìý

The play is directed by second-year students Alice Seabright (°×С½ãÂÛ̳ Psychology) and Jess Cotton (°×С½ãÂÛ̳ English), and produced by Aliya Abidi, a second-year student in °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Psychology and Language Sciences.
