Nearly three quarters of the international students who took a foundation course at °×С½ãÂÛ̳ gained a place to study here or at one of the UK's top 20 universities.
An impressive 74% of °×С½ãÂÛ̳ University Preparatory Certificate (UPC) graduates gained places at the prestigious institutions - with 50% starting °×С½ãÂÛ̳ degree programmes this September.
The courses are for students who have completed their secondary/high school education overseas with qualifications that do not allow them direct entry to °×С½ãÂÛ̳'s undergraduate degree programmes.
Over one academic year, they provide an intensive preparation for the academic and linguistic challenges of a top UK degree programme.
There are two UPC streams:
- UPC for Science and Engineering for students interested in degree courses in Mathematical and Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, Medicine and Engineering
- UPC for the Humanities, which helps students gain entry to degree courses in the Arts (including Architecture), the Humanities, Social Sciences (including Economics and Law), Business and Mathematics-related programmes.
The courses are popular, competition for places is fierce and this year's cohort includes students from more than 25 countries.
