They will debate challenging issues related to human rights, fair trade and global health - and receive daily homework tasks. Many of the young people have previously attended the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Horizons Year 10 Saturday School, a long-term academic enrichment programme at the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ campus.

Many °×С½ãÂÛ̳ staff and students are involved in the Summer School. An experienced team of °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Horizons undergraduate ambassadors will support and mentor the teens throughout the week, acting as role models for higher education. °×С½ãÂÛ̳ academics and PhD students will give daily lectures, and the teenagers will participate in debating workshops taught by young °×С½ãÂÛ̳ graduates with experience of competing on the university debating circuit.

We hope to see our Horizons participants applying to °×С½ãÂÛ̳ in the not too distant future.

°×С½ãÂÛ̳ Outreach want to raise our profile across the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ community. We regularly recruit undergraduate and postgraduate students to work on our programmes; we are also keen to hear from academic staff who can deliver engaging, interactive and age-appropriate sessions for secondary school students.Ìý
