Record number of Marie Curie Fellowships for researchat °×С½ãÂÛ̳

18 December 2012

23 postdoctoral researchers from 14 different countries have been awarded Marie Curie Individual Fellowships.

The awards will enable researchers to spend up to two years working with research teams across all schools at °×С½ãÂÛ̳.

The scheme is funded by the European Union and aims to support international research partnerships and attract researchers to the EU.

This is °×С½ãÂÛ̳'s largest-ever intake of Marie Curie grants and represents a substantial increase on the 2011 call, as well as reaffirming °×С½ãÂÛ̳'s position as London's Global University and underlining its commitment to strengthening research and innovation in Europe. The fellowships are an opportunity for researchers from outside the UK to benefit from the breadth of expertise at °×С½ãÂÛ̳, and strengthen international research collaboration.

°×С½ãÂÛ̳ has received funding worth €5.2 million towards these fellowships; each fellowship is worth around €227,000 to cover the cost of research, travel and living expenses.

The next call for Marie Curie individual fellowships will run from March to August 2013. Researchers who have recently joined °×С½ãÂÛ̳ after working abroad may be interested in applying for a Marie Curie Career Integration Grant. More information is available from .
