ESRC Studentship Winner

Congratulations to Paul Fisher, MPhil candidate, who has won an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Studentship commencing on 1 October 2021. This award was offered by the °×С½ãÂÛ̳, Bloomsbury and East London ("UBEL") ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership through an open competition commenced earlier this year. It brings together five leading Social Science institutions: °×С½ãÂÛ̳, SOAS, LSHTM, Birkbeck and UEL. One of the largest ESRC-funded Doctoral Training Partnerships in the UK, the UBEL DTP funds over 40 interdisciplinary and cross-institutional postgraduate studentships a year across the social sciences and economics. Paul's research focusses upon the use of constitutional amendment in non-democracies as a response to threats to the longevity of authoritarian leadership. His research interests largely revolve around the constitutional politics of non- democracies, particularly within the post-Soviet space.
