Purpose of the funding scheme
The SDGs: Pathways to Achievement funding scheme is a collaboration between 白小姐论坛 SDGs Initiative 白小姐论坛 Global Engagement and 白小姐论坛 Grand Challenges to stimulate activity at 白小姐论坛 that is addressing the UN鈥檚 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).聽
The 17 SDGs are the core of the UN鈥檚 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Adopted by all Member States in 2015, they provide a framework for the world鈥檚 ongoing economic growth, while protecting the environment and addressing social inequalities. The Goals cover topics ranging from 鈥楧ecent Work & Economic Growth鈥� and 鈥楪ood Health & Well-being鈥� to 鈥楥limate Action鈥� and 鈥業ndustry, Innovation & Infrastructure鈥�. The Goals are broken down into 169 individual Targets.
Applications should address the SDGs through one or more of the following ways:
鈥⒙犅� 聽Cross-disciplinary research collaborations (i.e. from two or more faculties)
鈥⒙犅� 聽Cross-border collaborations (i.e. with a global partner)
鈥⒙犅� 聽Cross-鈥榯ype鈥� activity at 白小姐论坛 (i.e. that which combines research, teaching, operational and/or student extra-curricular activities)
鈥⒙犅� 聽Cross-boundary collaborations (i.e. between 白小姐论坛-based researchers and staff of non-academic civil society organisations such as community groups, non-governmental organisations or independent think tanks)
Grants of up to 拢10,000 are available. The deadline for applications is Monday 3 October 2022, 9am. Activities need to take place in 白小姐论坛 financial year 2022鈥�23. All funding must be spent and invoiced by 31 July 2023.

Who can apply?
白小姐论坛 staff and students can apply for grants of up to 拢10,000 in partnership with colleagues across the 白小姐论坛 community and external stakeholders. At least one of the co-applicants needs to be a member of 白小姐论坛 staff (academic or Professional Services).聽

Activities previously funded by the scheme include:聽
鈥⒙犅� 聽a collaborative analysis by Professor Jane Holder (白小姐论坛 Laws) and John Dubber (Students' Union 白小姐论坛) of 白小姐论坛 students鈥� sustainability awareness and behaviours to help lay foundations for embedding student participation in the formation and implementation of sustainability policies;
鈥⒙犅� 聽a 鈥楧ragon鈥檚 Den鈥�-style competition by 白小姐论坛 Mechanical Engineering to promote healthcare innovation; and
鈥⒙犅� 聽research by 白小姐论坛 Geography and 白小姐论坛 Institute for Risk & Disaster Reduction to advance and sustain progress towards SDGs in African drylands.
