Postgraduate Development

Following feedback from our 2019 Postgraduate Research (PGR) student survey, we are improving support for our PGR students.

  • We have prepared Departmental guidelines for PGR supervisors.
  • We are holding regular PGR/PGR tutor and PGR/PDRA coffee mornings.
  • We are establishing a careers programme for PGR students.
  • We organisedÌýa PhD thesis writing workshop for final PGR students (24/05/19) and termly ‘writing retreats’.
  • We are revising our PGR recruitment process to ensure we keep our best UG and PGT students.

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý + We are taking positive action to encourage our outstanding women UG/PGT students to apply for PGR studentships.

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý + We have established a focus group to try and understand the reasons for low numbers of applications from women to PGR courses.

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý + We are improving our admissions and interview processes and keep in touch with applicants following an offer.
