This workshop will be a point of contact between groups at °×С½ãÂÛ̳ interested in future spectroscopic surveys, including the Astrophysics Group, MSSL and the Cosmoparticle Initiative.
The next five years will see a revolution in multi-object spectroscopy through theÌýadvent of several new facilities on ground- and space-based observatories. ThisÌýwill follow recent and continuing progress in gathering deep panoramic and time-dependent imaging data.Ìý We can expect significant progress in observational cosmology, Galactic archeology, galaxy evolution and transient science. °×С½ãÂÛ̳ astronomers are involved in all of the key facilities. The workshop will provide an opportunity to show-case each of these facilities and their scientific potential as well as to offer the opportunity to discuss their complementary aspects and possible synergies between them.
