°×С½ãÂÛ̳ IP Moot Team success at the Annual Oxford International IP Law Moot

°×С½ãÂÛ̳ Laws’ IP Moot Team reaches the final four in the prestigious Oxford International Intellectual Property (IP) Law Moot, being the highest place UK team in the competition.

We are pleased to report that °×С½ãÂÛ̳'s Intellectual Property Moot Team reached the semi-finals in the oral rounds of the , which took place in Oxford between 16th and 18th March 2023. This placed °×С½ãÂÛ̳ in the Top 4 teams out of the 28 invited to Oxford based on their written submissions, which were ranked in the Top 5 out of all the submissions received. By reaching the Semi-Finals, °×С½ãÂÛ̳ was the highest placed UK team in the competition.

The team has spent the last 6 months preparing for the competition, which required analysis of the law of copyright and the pastiche defence. It comprised Dheemanth Vangimalla (LLM), Camille Pellicano (LLM) and Zachary Quentin-Lewis (LLB), who presented oral arguments at the competition. They were accompanied and supported by coaches Cartman Tai (LLB), ´³´Ç²õ³óÌýµþ°ù²¹»å±ô±ð²â (PhD Candidate) and Professor Sir Robin Jacob.

At Oxford, the °×С½ãÂÛ̳ team competed against Goethe-University Frankfurt (Germany), Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (India), University of Technology Sydney (Australia), and Osgoode Hall Law School (Canada) in the preliminary rounds to reach the Quarter Finals. The team then beat Australian National University (Australia), before bowing out in the Semi-Finals to the eventual winners - the University of Ottawa (Canada).
